The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to to promote research to prevent Alzheimer's and other dementias, to improve the quality of life of those affected and to raise social awareness. To this end, it develops internationally recognized projects through the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) and promotes strategic funding programs and collaborative initiatives such as the Alzheimer's HUB Barcelona.

The Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC) is the Pasqual Maragall Foundation research center dedicated to the prevention of Alzheimer's and the study of brain aging. Their research focuses on the preclinical phases of the disease using biomarkers, neuroimaging, and advanced data analysis. The center leads the ALFA Study, supported by the "la Caixa" Foundation, one of the most important Alzheimer's research cohorts in Europe.
